Staff Recommendation Background:
On March 18, 2025, at its Special Commission Meeting, by and through Resolution 2025-041, the City Commission of the City of Lauderdale Lakes (“Commission”) designated and appointed the City Clerk, Venice Howard to serve as the Acting City Manager for the City during the interim period and until such time as the Commission appoints a permanent City Manager. On April 8,2025, the City Commission, by and through Resolution 2025-057, set the compensation for the Acting City Manager at an annual salary and benefits equal to and consistent with the salary and benefits accorded to the most recent former City Manager, that is a salary of $184,442.00, plus a monthly automobile and cellular phone allowance of $690.00 and $200.00, respectively, plus such other applicable group insurance benefits. s of October 1, 2025, all City employees, including the Acting City Manager, received an automatic three percent (3%) cost-of-living adjustment to their salaries. Further, all employees (except for the Acting City Manager), after an annual evaluation, also received an overall salary increase of 4%.
