City of Lauderdale Lakes City Commission Meeting

Welcome to the City Commission Meeting

 

We are pleased that you have demonstrated an interest in the City of Lauderdale Lakes by attending a City Commission Meeting. We hope that you enjoy the meeting and will attend more of these meetings in the future.

 

GENERAL RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS:

 

Please turn off or silence your cell phones. Any person requiring Auxiliary Aids and services must contact the City Clerk's Office at 954-535-2705 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

 

If you or someone you know is hearing or speech impaired, please call Florida Relay Service at 1-800-955-8770 or 8771.

 

  • Who May Speak - Any individual who wishes to address the City Commission may do so providing it is accomplished in an orderly manner and in accordance with the procedures outlined in Sec. 2-54 (2) of the Code of Ordinances.

 

  • Petitions From the Public - Per Section 2-54 of the Code of Ordinances, each person desiring to petition the City Commission will be allotted 5 minutes under the applicable order of business for the City Commission meeting. Petitions from the Public shall not exceed 30 minutes in aggregate time. The Mayor at his/her discretion may allow more time than the allotted time.

 

  • Speaking on items not on the Agenda - Each person who wishes to address the City Commission must sign in with the City Clerk before 7:00 p.m. by completing the Petition from the Public form, located on the podium, outside of the City Commission Chambers.

 

The City Commission Meeting is a business meeting and as such, please conduct yourselves in a respectful and professional manner, both in tone of voice, as well as, choice of words.

 

Please direct your comments to the City Commission as a body through the presiding office and not to the audience or individual City Commissioner.

 

As your City Commission, we will abide by the debate and decorum rules which provides for each City Commissioner to speak 10 minutes at a time on each subject matter. After every Commissioner have spoken, the Mayor will provide for other comments.

VIDEOA.RESOLUTION 2026-062 APPROVING THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION'S "BRAIN BUS" WHICH PROVIDES EDUCATION, SCREENING RESOURCES, AND OUTREACH FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY ALZHEIMER'S AND RELATED DEMENTIAS AS A COMMISSIONER INITIATIVE FOR FY 2027 (SPONSORED BY VICE MAYOR THOMAS)

This is a resolution approving the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Brain Bus” event, taking place in early November 2026, with the time to be determined, in the City of Lauderdale Lakes, to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias while connecting individuals and families to critical resources and support services, including Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers at the Alzheimer’s Care Center in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.

VIDEOB.RESOLUTION 2026-063 SUPPORTING NW 29 STREET MULTIUSE PATH AND RAISED INTERSECTIONS PROJECT EXTENDING FROM SR-7 (US-441) TO NW 31 AVE, WITH A SECONDARY SEGMENT ON NW 33 AVE CONNECTING TO OAKLAND PARK BLVD. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROADS FOR ECONOMIC VITALITY (“REV”) BY THE BROWARD COUNTY METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (“MPO”).

This is a resolution supporting the MPO’s Roads for Economic Vitality (REV) program which provides funding for small local transportation projects that will improve the safety and mobility for all transportation users in Broward. This competitive grant program can fund projects such as (but not limited to): complete streets projects, traffic calming and intersection improvements, ADA upgrades, mobility hubs, bike racks and technology advancements such as transit signal priority and traffic control devices. 

VIDEOC.RESOLUTION 2026-064 AUTHORIZING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) FOR THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE BROWARD WELCOMES THE WORLD INITIATIVE (SPONSORED BY COMMISSIONER HARRISON)

This is a resolution authorizing the City of Lauderdale Lakes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Lauderhill for participation in the Broward Welcomes the World – 2026 FIFA World Cup Municipal Coordination Program. The MOU allows the City to host eligible World Cup-related community events and seek reimbursement for approved expenditures through Broward County funding, subject to program requirements, including a 1:1 matching contribution. Participation will include Commissioner Harrison's Grill & Chill Father's Day BBQ, with an anticipated event budget ranging from $6,500 to $12,000.

VIDEOD.RESOLUTION 2026-065 APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) NEW DELL SERVERS TO CARAHSOFT TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION FOR THE CITY, UTILIZING THE OMNIA COOPERATIVE CONTRACT# 23-6692-01 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00)

This is a resolution approving the purchase of new Dell servers in an amount not to exceed $150,000.00 from Carahsoft Technology Corp.

The views or beliefs expressed by the invocation speaker have not been previously reviewed or approved by the commission or the city staff, and do not necessarily represent their individual religious beliefs, nor are the views and beliefs expressed by an invocation speaker intended to suggest the city's allegiance to or preference for any particular religion, denomination, faith, creed or belief. Persons in attendance at the city commission meeting are invited to stand during the opening invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. However, such invitation shall not be construed as a demand, order, or any other type of command. No person in attendance at the meeting shall be required to participate in any opening invocation that is offered. You may exit the city commission chambers and return upon completion of the opening invocation if you do not wish to participate in or witness the opening invocation.
