NOTICE OF MEETING TO BE CONDUCTED BOTH IN PERSON AND THROUGH
COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA TECHNOLOGY (HYBRID MEETING)


The City of Lauderdale Lakes City Commission will be conducting a regular public meeting held in part through the use of Communications Media Technology ("CMT") and in-person attendance in accordance with City of Lauderdale Lakes Emergency Order 2020-01 (Safer at Home Emergency Order), dated March 27, 2020; Emergency Order 2020-04 (Emergency Procedures for Conducting Public Meetings using Communication Media Technology), dated April 17, 2020, as amended from time to time, and pursuant to City of Lauderdale Lakes Emergency Ordinance 2020-010. In accordance with such Emergency Orders and Ordinance, the City of Lauderdale Lakes City Hall facility is temporarily closed to the public; however, this meeting may be accessed by the public through the following access locations:

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Any member of the public wishing to submit a petition from the public or make a public comment on an item may do so by submitting a public comment form prior to the meeting. The form can be accessed by visiting the City's Clerks webpage and by selecting City Commission/Workshops/CRA Meetings or by clicking the following link: https://www.lauderdalelakes.org/FormCenter/City-Clerk-10/Public-Meeting-Comment-Form-58. Members of the public can also email such to the City Clerk at cityclerk@lauderdalelakes.org prior to 7:00 p.m. on May 11, 2021. You may call 954-535-2709 if you are not able to connect to the zoom meeting via the video link and would like to make a public comment. All submitted public petitions should be no more than three (3) minutes and will be read into the record of the meeting.

Welcome to the City Commission Meeting

 

We are pleased that you have demonstrated an interest in the City of Lauderdale Lakes by attending a City Commission Meeting. We hope you enjoy the meeting and will attend more of these meetings in the future.

 

GENERAL RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS:

 

Please turn off or silence cell phones. Any person requiring Auxiliary Aids and services must contact the City Clerk's Office at 954-535-2705 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

 

If you or someone you know is hearing or speech impaired, please call Florida Relay Service at 1-800-955-8770 or 8771.

 

  • Who May Speak - Any individual who wishes to address the City Commission may do so providing it is accomplished in an orderly manner and in accordance with the procedures outline in Sec. 2-54 (2) of the Code of Ordinances.

 

  • Petitions From the Public - Each person desiring to petition the City Commission will be allotted three minutes under the applicable order of business for the City Commission meeting. Petitions from the Public shall not exceed 30 minutes in aggregate time. The Mayor at his/her discretion may allow more time than the allotted time.

 

  • Speaking on items not on the Agenda - Each person who wishes to address the City Commission must sign in with the City Clerk before 7:00 p.m.

 

 

The City Commission Meeting is a business meeting and as such, please conduct yourselves in a respectful and professional manner, both in tone of voice, as well as choice of words.

 

Please direct your comments to the City Commission as a body through the presiding office and not to the audience or individual City Commissioner.

 

As your City Commission, we will abide by the debate and decorum rules which provides for each City Commissioner to speak 10 minutes at a time on each subject matter. After every Commissioner have spoken, the Mayor will provide for other comments.

This resolution extends the City of Lauderdale Lakes' Resolution 2020-020 Declaring Public Emergency Affecting Life, Health, Property and Public Peace.

VIDEOB.RESOLUTION 2021-049 AUTHORIZING THE CITY’S PURCHASE OF SERVERS, HARD DRIVES & MISCELLANEOUS COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THAT CERTAIN CONTRACT NO. MNWNC-108 COMPETITIVELY SOLICITED AND AWARDED BY WESTERN STATES CONTRACTING ALLIANCE-NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STATE PROCUREMENT OFFICIALS VALUEPOINT COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 ($30,000.00) DOLLARS

This Resolution authorizes the purchase of servers, hard drives and miscellaneous computer equipment from SHI International Corp as authorized by Dell Marketing, LP, Contract No. MNWNC-108, Computer Equipment, Peripherals, and Related Services, in accordance with the terms and conditions of WSCA-NASPO Valuepoint Cooperative Purchasing Program in an amount of $30,000.

VIDEOC.RESOLUTION 2021-050 STATEWIDE OPIOID LITIGATION

This resolution supports and authorizes the City of Lauderdale to join as participant in non-binding agreement on the terms of proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and other formal agreements implementing a unified plan between the State of Florida and participating local governments pertaining to the allocation and use of proceeds of negotiated settlement of legal and equitable claims against certain pharmaceutical supply chain participant for harm caused by the opioid epidemic.

VIDEOD.RESOLUTION 2021-051 VETO OF CS/HB 403 PROHIBITING AND PREEMPTING LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOME RULE AUTHORITY TO TAKE CERTAIN ACTIONS RELATING TO THE LICENSURE AND REGULATION OF HOME-BASED BUSINESSES

This resolution urges Florida Governor Ron Desantis’ veto of CS/HB 403 prohibiting and preempting Local Government Home Rule Authority to take certain actions relating to the licensure and regulation of home-based businesses.
